Indulgence

Ode to Marie Antoinette. Indulgence is an aspect of beauty and sadness. Picture a beautifully adorable birthday party, only the birthday girl is being left out of her own celebration. Across the table is a wonderful array of pink, luxurious desserts, jewelry, and drinks – the epitome of indulgent art and beauty. The birthday girl is sad, her mind elsewhere as her best friends engage in a lively conversation that excludes her. As a final commemoration of her birthday, a cake is placed in front of her, of which she indulges herself as a means to eat her sadness away.
